EASY GARLIC BREAD

This recipe for Easy Garlic Bread is so easy it can hardly be called a recipe, but here it is anyway. Garlic bread can compliment so many different dishes/meals. The fact that it is so easy is just an added plus.

Garlic bread made this way has almost always been a part of my life. I’m talking from toddlerhood. There are many who consider it much easier to buy garlic bread pre-made from the frozen section. I like having more control over what I eat regarding unnecessary additives, or preservatives. To me, Fresh is almost always better!

HELPFUL HINTS FOR EASY GARLIC BREAD

After you place the buttered bread underneath the broiler, DO NOT leave it unattended. It can go from not done to burned within moments.

The bread can be cut in half, lengthwise, so you have a top and a bottom, buttered, cooked, and then cut into pieces. My favorite has become using a baguette, instead of French bread, cutting into fairly thin slices and then buttering and cooking…I really like the crunch I achieve doing it this way and it seems more flavorful to me.

  • Dried parsley
  • Dried oregano

Really all that is needed for this recipe is a microplane/grater like this and a sheet pan for baking.

Equipment

  • Grater/microplane
  • Sheet Tray

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks Butter softened to room temperature
  • 4 medium Fresh garlic cloves grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dried basil
  • 1 Loaf of French bread or a baguette

Instructions

  • Let butter soften to room temperature.
  • Once butter is softened, add the freshley grated garlic, dried parsley, and dried basil. Use a fork to mix well.
  • Split the bread in half, lengthwise, so that you have a top and a bottom, OR, cut into slices. Spread butter onto the slices, or the top and bottom of the loaf. Place onto a foil lined sheet pan.
  • Place under the broiler until you reach your desired level of toastiness, approximately 2 to 3 minutes. WATCH IT CLOSELY. LIKE, DON'T TAKE YOUR EYES OFF OF IT. It will go from not done to burned in no time flat!
